Dargah Sharif: The Dargah of Khawaja
He retired to his cloister for long inclination and when it was opened on sixth day of Rajjab, he was found dead. The exact date of his death was thus uncertain and therefore, the Urs or the anniversary of his death is observed from first to sixth day of Rajjab every year. Urs Ajmer Sharif Held according to the Lunar calendar. in the memory of saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, it is one of the biggest fairs of Muslims in India . Shah Jahan's Mosque One of the most beautiful buildings within the Dargah precincts ,it has a long (30.5 mts.)and a narrow court with a low arcade in white marble which is delicately carved with trellis work. Government Museum Emperor Akbar's royal palace now houses the museum which has a rich collection of armour and some fine sculptures of the region. This is popularly known as Akbar ka Kila. Built in the year 1865 by Rai Bahadur seth Mool Chand Soni of Ajmer. The temple consists of two parts, the first portion is the worship area for Jain community where idol of Lord Adinath the first of the 24 tirthsnkars, of jain religion is installed. The second portion is the museum section where the five stages (Panch Kalyanak) in the life of Lord Adinath have been depicted in the form of statues. The 40 x 80 feet hall is exquisitely done up in pure gold, Belgium stain glass, mineral colour paintings and stain glass work. Thus this two story museum is a treat to the Soul. Taragarh fort The star fort was built by Ajaipal Chauhan in 1100 A.D. reaching the top of the hill by steep path, one has a commanding view of the city. Foy Sagar Situated at a distance of 5 Kms from the city, this lake was named after the engineer responsible for its construction. This picturesque lake was the result of a famine relief project. Adhai-din-ka-jhopra This mosque was originally an ancient sanskrit college within a temple enclosure. In 1193 A.D. Mohammad Ghori destroyed the college and built the mosque which has the remains of many surrounding temples. Three pillars, no two alike, have been placed one on the top of the other thus giving an impression of height, in a pillared hall, 61 meters long. Sai Baba Temple
